Cozy mysteries: Faux Paw

Faux Paw is book 7 in the Magical Cats Mystery series by Sofie Kelly.  This is a delightful series and Faux Paw is no exception. This story features a traveling art exhibit at the library which ends up in a missing piece of art and a dead curator. Small town librarian Kathleen solves the murder with the help of her two "magical" cats, cop boyfriend, and friends Maggie and Rena.

The name of the series is slightly misleading, as there are not a lot of magical aspects.  The cats have special "magical" abilities (such as walking through walls) which helps them help Kathleen solve the murders.  Besides that, the small town is pretty typical and non-magical.

One aspect of this series that is particularly compelling is the relationship between the protagonist and her friends.  The female friendships are sincere and warm.  You want to be in the kitchen eating hot chocolate and vanilla marshmallows right along with the characters.

If you like cozy mysteries, especially ones with animals, then I would highly recommend trying this series.
